I think I'll Pass!

I love Sex and the City!! I've seen all the episodes countless times and have watched the 1st movie quite a few times as well. I was super excited when they started showing commercials for Sex and the City 2 the movie! I was really looking forward to going to the theater to see it (yes, I said Was) until I saw that the movie is 2 hours and 26 mins long. I SMH like OMG....that is too long!! I am not one for sitting still that long. Now OK a hour and 45 minutes or 2 hours maybe but almost 2 and a half hours not including previews is crazy!! When is a move is that long I end up missing some of it because of bathroom breaks; especially if I go to the Emagine theater where you can buy alcoholic beverages from their bar to drink during your movie, that will really have me running to the bathroom. Then by the end of the movie I start getting antsy like a little kid from just being tired of sitting. So I decided that I'll pass on seeing it at the movie theater =( I'll see it when it come out on Netflix or maybe someone I know will buy me a bootleg copy (yes, I said bootleg and I now many people out there frown upon that but you notice that I didn't say I was going to buy it.)

Give a great gift without spending a fortune!

I was reading an article in my local news paper about gift ideas for high school and college grads and although it was a well written article that offered some good gift giving possibilities, all of the gifts were rather pricey. The prices range from $52 dollars for a chain to $180 for a LeSportsac carry on bag for traveling. I said to myself I now that there are gifts out there for much cheaper then that that would any graduation would be happy to receive.
I found a few great gift idea examples on one of my favorite websites overstock.com

This three speaker Ipod dock would be a stylish addition to any high school grad's new college dorm room or in there room at home if they are attending a college near by, and its only $59.99.
This stylish men's gift set w/cuff links, money clip, tie clip, and key chain would be great gift to make a male college grad feel more professional as he joins the work force and its a good deal at $48.99
An imitation alligator skin laptop case would make any female college grad feel confident when starting their career, and it is only $49.99.

A vibrantly colored laptop bag for $33.99 would be a great gift for a teenager who's off to college

Sooth a sore throat and enjoy a delicious drink!

Im suffering from a super sore throat today, I don't know if its the cold damp weather, sinuses, or some cooties I caught from one of the kids. When Im faced with this type of situation or when I just want to treat myself to a rich flavorful treat I brew a cup or a whole pot of Celestial Seasonings Tea. My current flavors of choice are True Blueberry and Perfectly Pear. I find that I prefer True Blueberry with sugar and Perfectly Pear with honey, a companied by an english muffin slathered with Nutella. I encourage everyone to give these flavors a try and to open yourself up to new things, you never know what you might like!

Good-bye Yellow pages =(

I read this article in the Detroit Free Press a couple days ago that was a good thing and a bad thing at the same time. Focus Hope a well known and reputable organization has purchased the old Yellow pages building with the plans to renovate it to provide homes for the homeless. That's a good thing, very positive and inspiring! But unfortunately they plan to remove the big Yellow pages sign from the building. The building was formerly Michigan Bell and Western Electric warehouse was built in 1929-30 and also used for a garage and office space. Western Electric used the space as its Michigan headquarters until 1958. The Yellow Pages operation moved into the building in 1959-60, and the building continued to serve Michigan Bell until 1999. It was listed on the National Registry of Historic Places in December 1999. Myself and many other Metro Detroiters have become accustom to seeing the hulking Yellow Pages sign, which used change colors. Its going to be strange in the near future to drive north bound on the lodge freeway and not see the familiar landmark as you approach the Linwood exit.

OMG I Want It...

OMG I want this so bad, its a little pricey at $29.95 for a 2GB flash drive but its everyone’s favorite astromech droid, R2-D2!! He makes his triumphant return to the Star Wars MIMOBOT Designer USB Flash Drive collection. Whether you need to smuggle Death Star plans, put your X - Wing on autopilot, or carry all your music, R2 is there for you. Just remember – you need to plug him in the data port, not the power jack. Check out http://www.mimoco.com for hundreds of other character flash drives.

Great website and holistic magazine

Recently I stumbled upon a really nice and inspiring free monthly magazine call Body Mind Spirit Guide. I started flipping through it then I realized that it was filled with a lot of things that I am interested in such as meditation, spiritual healing, and positive thinking. The article that I found most inspirational, that fits right along with Mother's Day that's just days away, is called All Women are Creators and Healers by Paula Kirsch. It is all about the women's roles in our families and in the world. The passage that I took most to heart says " Love actually fuels courage. It is the greatest gift! As fear can suck the air out of a room, love can extinguish fear! Love breathes life into everything. No matter the question, love is the universal answer!"

After reading the magazine I immediately went to the website http://www.bodymindspiritguide.com to check out what else they had to offer, and let me tell you that there is a lot of great information that can be found there. So if you are open minded and have an interest in self improvement and empowerment this is the site for you.

Bad Dog Owners =(

I can’t stand people who insist on owning multiple dogs and not as loving house pets but as big stinky loud backyard animals. Then they don’t even have an adequate fence in order to keep the dogs contained, so they end up roaming the streets making the neighborhood unsafe for anybody walking. It makes me hate dogs!

I love food!!

I eat all day long. I’m a big snacker, constantly grazing on things here and there. My latest favorite snack is homemade orange cinnamon glazed almonds and pecans. Thank God for a super fast metabolism or I’d probably weigh 400lbs.

Unlike most people I’ll admit that along with eating because I’m hungry I also eat when I’m sad, mad, bored or just because something’s there. I know that’s not a good thing, but hey that’s the way it is sometimes!

I try to snack on healthy things like fruit, granola, and yogurt but I also love cupcakes, chips, and cookies! My latest indulgence is homemade Mocha Frappes with whip cream and chocolate sauce drizzled on top.
