Not Black Enough!?

I feel like Maria in west side story being told to “Stick to your own kind”! It is the belief of some people that a Black or African American person (which ever that person prefers to be called) should read, watch and consume all forms of African American media before thinking about enjoying anything outside of that race (meaning “white people stuff”). I’m told “I’m not Black enough” because I don’t always patronize black movies just for the sake showing support (no matter how stupid it is) and I don’t read enough books by black authors or watch only shows with black characters.

People want me to be all "Power to the People" all the time!!Geeezz!! Get off my back… I always thought it was important for a person to be open and accepting of all forms of music, movies and literature no matter the race of the creator!! I strongly believe that it’s good to have pride in your race, culture, and heritage but not to the extent of becoming exclusive to all other races.

You know you got kids when...

You know you got kids when you find yourself cracking jokes pertaining to G-rated movies even when the kids aren’t around, and you end up laughing harder about it then you probably would have if the kids were around to hear it. One of my kids favorite movies is Disney’s Kung Fu Panda and they watch it way to often!! Well last night in the mist of a very heated conversation (yeah, you thought I was going to day something dirty) while waving my hand around to emphasize what I was saying, my hunny grabbed one of my fingers with his index finger and thumb then raised his pinky high in the air…

I said “OMG it’s the Wooshi Finger hold” and we both started ROTFLOAO(“rolling on the floor laughing our asses off” just in case you didn’t get it). I can’t believe to grown ass people dying laughing over a reference to a cartoon movie, but there we were. It was the hardest I had laughed in a long time.

Did you know...

That "Nagging" means to ask somebody repeatedly: to ask or urge somebody persistently and annoyingly to do or not do something. I always thought that any kind of nagging was a no-no! But according to a reliable male source I have discovered that there is a rule on what is considered acceptable nagging =)
My source tells me that it is OK to “Nag” or remind a man incessantly about something that pertains to family bills, family trips/functions, and about things that have to be taken care of for the children. But it’s never OK to “Nag” about a man’s comings and goings or about his friends or his family(not that I ever do that)!!

Confession of the Day

On top of my massive amounts of information I Have to read for school, I've decided to take time for some Guilty Pleasure reading. You know that book you read in secret cause you wouldn't dare to be caught reading it around people!! Well, Just between U & Me I'm reading...


I love her show Tori&Dean Home sweet Hollywood on Oxygen and when I decided that I need to start taking a few minutes a day to read something fun these were the first books to pop in my head, and so far so good!! Its funny to read about her life and drama in her own words. But Shhhhh, Don't tell my Hunny cause he already thinks I'm not Black enough (Yeah I said Black enough, that's a post for another day) and I'd never hear the end of it if he new this =)

The Best Present...

My daughter is at the age where if she give it a little thought she can find a really nice present for someone even with the little money she has. For my birthday she got me the cutest, super girly, sparkly pink earrings...
OMG I love them!! I had to change outfits to wear them =) I know they didn't cost but a couple of buck, if that, but they made me feel so special and I was proud to wear them.

Product Endorsement Time

Sipahh is a great product that gets even my picky one year old to drink his milk. Its a straw filled with little low fat candy that as you sip through the straw the flavor of the milk is transformed. It comes in a variety of different flavors like cookies&cream and strawberry. My kids love the Banana flavor!!
